Technology upgradation of power factor correction

Sinexcel SVG works as a dynamic reactive power source. Using high-speed DSP and IGBT power stages with a precise control program, it follows grid current variation in real time and improves power factor to 0.99 within 15 ms — step-lessly, without the resonance and switching-step limitations of capacitor banks. How accurate compensation is achieved

The core pursuit of a modern grid is strong energy, accurate control and a stable system. SVG replaces the old switched-capacitor approach with real-time measurement and semiconductor-generated compensation current.

Step 1

External CT — the eye

Current transformers on the incomer detect the load current in real time, including rapidly fluctuating and unbalanced loads.

Step 2

DSP — the brain

A high-speed DSP analyses and calculates the reactive power content of the measured load current with a precise control program.

Step 3

IGBT — the heart

IGBT power stages generate inductive or capacitive compensation current, so reactive power is corrected accurately and step-lessly.

Sinexcel can supply SVG units with a plug suite, monitoring system and alarm indication lights so the cabinet can be built on site. A plug cabinet needs no wiring for the modules — easy integration, fast unit replacement and a more cost-effective solution.
